"2001" one by Liz Larner may be on permanent display at UCSF Mission Bay in the Genetics, Development and Behavioral Sciences building but in 2007 it was in NYC Central Park.
She takes the sphere and the cube and puts it together in a twelve feet high and twelve foot deep stainless steel, and fiberglass piece painted in green and purple iridescent urethane. Its contour and color change with the viewer's angle and the overall light conditions so that it seems to be both at rest and undergoing metamorphosis. Made using a computer animation program and constructed of industrial materials, it really is an eye-catcher.
